Biography

Alexey Komarov was born in 1976 in Karaganda (Kazakhstan).
In 1983 entered the Special Musical school in Karaganda.
In 1992 entered the Central Special Musical school at the Moscow State Conservatory.
In 1994 entered the Moscow State Conservatory under tutorship of Prof. Yuri Slesarev.
In 1996 won the 5th prize on II International Piano Competition entitled “Arthur Rubinstain in memoriam” in Bydgoszcz (Poland).
In 1997 won the 2nd prize on VII International Competition for piano and orchestra “Cittа di Cantù” (Italy).
In 1999 won the 3rd prize on F. Liszt International Piano Competition in Wroclaw (Poland).
In the year 1999 received a scholarship from Yamaha European Foundation.
In 2001 won the 2nd prize on V J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (Poland).
In 2003 won the 4th prize on International Piano Competition of memory Vladimir Horowitz in Kiev (Ukraine).
From 2003 to 2004 studied in Piano Academy: ” Accademia Pianistica Incontri col Maestro” in Imola (Italy) under principle tutorship of Maestro Lazar Berman. Also took some lessons from Boris Petrushansky.
Took part in work of the judge of First and Second piano competitions for young players “Chopin’s Golden ring” , Radovljica (Slovenia, 2005, 2006).
Held concerts in Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Italy, Germany, Slovenia and Japan, also as a soloist with symphony orchestra.
